55 years ago, Alonzo Kallemeyn started a printing company in his garage and made a promise to himself, his company, and his customers: never compromise quality service.
In the early 60’s he began printing a series of community newspapers using a high-speed web offset press. In addition to newspapers, he also printed catalogs, books, and Bibles.
Years passed, and three of his sons took over and grew what Alonzo had started into three successful businesses, one of them being Excel Printing and Mailing.
Although we started out as a family-owned business in a suburb of Chicago, several dedicated people have joined the company, and have helped expand our reach to the entire United States. But the team has also focused on expanding our capabilities. From newspaper printing in a humble garage, we have grown to owning several presses and pieces of equipment that can produce postcards, letters, envelopes, business cards, banners, decals, yard signs, and of course, still newspapers.
But printing isn’t enough when it comes to direct mail; our customers needed design work, access to quality mailing lists, and knowledge on moving a direct mail job through the USPS postal stream effectively. Excel Printing and Mailing formed out of Alonzo’s vision to provide uncompromised quality service, which means that we will always offer everything a successful direct mail campaign needs in-house, under one roof.
